Raluca Bejan

Raluca Bejan

Raluca Bejan, Lead Investigator, is Assistant Professor of Social Work at Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Canada. Raluca was a former Visiting Academic at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS), University of Oxford, UK between 2016 and 2018. She has over ten years of experience in conducting migration research.

Raluca co-directed a documentary film on the Greek Refugees crisis, titled Trace, in 2018. Trace was awarded Best Feature Documentary at the Santorini Film Festival in 2019 and was screened at several academic institutions including University of Cambridge, UK and Innis College, University of Toronto.

 
René Bogovic

René Bogovic

René Bogovic is a Sociology PhD candidate at the University of Toronto. Building on a background in documentary filmmaking and ethnographic work in South Africa and the Western Balkans, Rene's focus in the project is the Western Balkan route and the refugee situation in Croatia and the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 
Salim Nabi

Salim Nabi

Salim has a BA in philosophy and is an MA candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies at York University. Salim's primary research area has been the refugee situation in Lesvos, Greece, since the implementation of the EU-Turkey Deal in March 2016.

 
Tracy Glynn

Tracy Glynn

Tracy Glynn is a researcher based at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, where she also teaches courses on social movements, environmental praxis and globalization. She recently completed her Ph.D. from the University of New Brunswick in the disciplines of political economy and social anthropology.

Tracy has worked with migrant justice groups such as No One Is Illegal Fredericton, KAIROS and labour unions to support the rights and access to services of migrant workers and refugees.
